So hard to believe in just a few weeks I will be a qualified PADI Scuba Dive Instructor

A few months ago the thought of being immersed in water and breathing from a cylinder really wasn’t all that appealing too me if I’m being honest. But one day I decided to overcome my fears and start my diving adventure. Believe me when I say it was the best thing I’ve ever done and have absolutely no regrets.

Here at Dive HQ Auckland, Academy of Scuba we get to dive in the most beautiful places and see so much of the underwater world every day. Not to mention all the trips you go on from Lake Taupo’s drift dive to the beautiful Poor Knights and many more.

Dive Girls

When I first started this journey I was so anxious to do night diving or deep dives and wreck dives made me fearful too. But with the great support and tutoring, I receive at Dive HQ, overtime I have grown to love them.

I am now near the end of my PADI Divemaster course, after completing PADI Rescue Diver, PADI Advanced Diver and Medic First Aid. We are now all at the start of our IDC (Instructor Development Course) and all I can say is the Diploma in Scuba Diving Course as a whole has seriously challenged me in so many ways, both physically and mentally but it’s the price you have to pay, to be able too soon do what you love every day and teach so many others about the beauty below the surface.

I’ll forever be grateful for the Dive HQ Instructors and Professional Tutors for not giving up on me even though I took ages to catch on some things and for teaching us to the best of their abilities. Their excellent tutoring develops us into the best instructors we can be. It really is so hard to believe that in just a few weeks I will be a qualified PADI Dive Instructor able to travel the world (when global travel opens up again) and explore so many other dive spots around the world. In the new year, I’m planning on applying to a few New Zealand dive resorts up north and to the superyachts. Then after that just go where ever it takes me
